Ah there's nothing like a huge dose of science after a long day at work! The new Cosmos really filled that gap quite well, every time I see that opening scene it sends a shock to my system like i'm alive again, liek there's some hope instead of having my stay dead among the stagnant rock which is the day to day life.
So all this servitude has got me thinking a lot on that army I would like to build.. and well by army I mean rebel? mercenary? hard to explain but basically it'll be a group to improve whoever wants to join and then they contribute back, though there could be some that would be "hardliners" where they would stay in the group and work for the group, it would be split into two sides (and this is where I would draw something if I had a tablet).
First half would be the intellect, ran by a single man in charge, their focus would be on gaining intelligence for the strength half and also making money by any means necessary such as stocks and such, hacking, manipulating government (in a good way) and other projects like that. They would also learn other things that weren't towards these goals like physics, biology, chemistry, nano tech, anything really.
The second half would be strength, also run by a single different man(or women I guess I just mean person) and what they would do is focus on strength, they would work on strengthening the muscles, but also they would work on military tactics, martial arts, weapon training both melee and ranged, old and new technologies. They would strive to be the best soldiers that could possibly exist, implementing themselves into police forces, specialized swat squads, mercenary groups, and of course military.
Although these two sides are run separately they also have a bare minimum of either sides they have to do. In actuality they would all start off the same rank at the bottom where they would be trained all on the same stuff, with no sides picked, no rankings, just grunts. They would be fed high nutritional diets and go through physical and mental training regimens, making sure to have all the intelligence basics and at the same time have all the basic body skills and overall health. After this they would move up and pick a side, as they rank up they would specialize more and get further apart from the other side, but of course they make take training from the opposite side whenever they chose as long as it was away from their normal schedule.
The two leaders would be the General and the Philosopher, and it is they who lead all this group, below them are their own soldiers specialized however they see fit. One cannot exist without the other, but there is also a group that would work in the shadow, separate from all the other teams but in direct control of a third man named the Ghost. He and his team would take care of any loose ends deemed by the others too dangerous.
Alas I've had many thoughts of this group, and I still to this day want to create it. Maybe soylent will be the first step.. then I just need to find my general, and ghost, and we will create this group and allow it to thrive in the darkness.. I know it seems a form of rip off of fight club, and I have no idea how to truly start it, but the biggest problem is that the leaders must be better than everyone. All the soldiers must be in awe of these leaders, or it serves no purpose.
So I guess Step 1: Make myself healthier and better than I've ever been. Make others in awe of me in some form or another, Become The Philosopher.
